Public Information Open Records Request

The Texas Public Information Act gives the public the right to request access to government information. All individuals who request information must do so in writing and include enough description and details of the information, allowing the governmental body to accurately identify and locate the information which you are requesting.

The Williamson Central Appraisal District (WCAD) posts a vast number of open records on this website to promote open government, including the WCAD appraisal plan, financial budget, and other beneficial information and data. We highly recommend property owners to use the tools and services throughout the website that make it easier to access public information records in lieu of submitting a formal request.

Owner information, Exemptions Data, GIS Data, Certified Data, Historical Data, Agent information, and other commonly sought records can be found by visiting:

https://data.wcad.org/

Another option for searching and/or acquiring taxing entity specific reports is available through the Browse Data button on our Entity Portal

If you are considering filing a Public Information Request, please keep in mind that the request must be for records or information that already exist. The Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new records, perform legal research, or to answer questions.

Additional information and FAQs regarding the submission of an Open Records Request are in the WCAD Public Information / Open Records Request Guide
