Located in Georgetown, TX, WCAD is at the center of one of the fastest growing counties in the Country and is tasked with keeping up with the continually changing real estate landscape. Consequentially, WCAD is looked to as a source of authoritative GIS and Land Records for the countywide region. WCAD maintains records for over two hundred thousand parcels that lie within sixteen school districts, seventeen cities and one hundred twenty two other entities.

Job Description

Job Type
Full Time – Forty (40) hours per week

Williamson Central Appraisal District is accepting applications for Commercial Appraiser.


The Commercial Appraiser is responsible for the appraisal of commercial real property for assessment of ad valorem taxes. Duties include:

  • Data collection by on-site inspection / measurements
  • Analysis of market information
  • Application of mass appraisal techniques (including developing market and income models)
  • Prepare reports for and conduct appeal hearings, binding arbitrations, mediations and court proceedings


Education / Experience / Training / Transportation

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Able to register with State of Texas and have or obtain Registered Professional Appraiser within reasonable time
  • Prior experience in appraising commercial mass appraisal setting is preferred
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Proof of liability insurance
  • Reliable Transportation


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Mathematical and statistical calculations and analysis
  • Ability to gather / analyze income and rental data and compile into meaningful reports
  • In limited amount of time, be able to interpret sophisticated property specific information including:
  • Profit and Loss Statements / Rent Rolls
  • Maps / Legal Property Descriptions
  • Fee Appraisals / Cost Construction Data
  • Deeds / Settlement Statements
  • Effectively manage time to meet deadlines
  • Courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees, property owners, boards, courts, fee appraisers, other agency representatives, businesses, professionals and the public (intense level of public communications) in sometimes adverse situations

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Indoors / Outdoors and may require:
  • Bending
  • Climbing
  • Keyboarding
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Walking Rough Terrain
  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Reaching
  • Work in adverse weather conditions requiring safety precautions
  • Ability to use Field Device (iPad, Windows Tablet, and / or Windows Laptop)
  • Considerable amount of driving
