Agricultural appraisal The Agricultural Appraisal department is responsible on an annual basis for reviewing agricultural applications, including wildlife management, which includes an office review of the account, an infield inspection of the property(ies), and concluding to a final determination on the application. Rollback determinations are also conducted through this department. If a property that is currently receiving an agricultural valuation is determined to be no longer in an agricultural use. A rollback is issued on the property to re-capture the difference between the taxes paid on the ag valuation and the taxes that would have been paid based on the market valuation. This department also gathers income and expense information from throughout the county on agricultural operations to calculate the productivity values for each classification of agricultural land. Each appraiser is responsible for a geographic area within the county, as well as conducting informal and formal reviews of appealed agricultural determinations.
